Hi everyone! If you are a quilter make sure to check out the website http://www.quiltsforkids.org. I have personally ordered several kits from this organization and have been very pleased. Also, its for a great cause too. The organization will send you a kit which includes fabric, quilting directions along with a label. There is no cost for the kit, but you will need to pay postage to send the completed quilt back. The postage is not that much. So don’t forget and check out the website. Happy quilting! Sharon
Saturday our Quilters Guild held a quilt show at the USF Botanical Gardens in Tampa FL. There were quilts you could view in the gardens, boutique items for sale, charity auction, opportunity quilt, and vendors. We had a beautiful day for the quilt show outside and the weather was just perfect. The quilts looked so pretty hanging from the trees with the wind blowing the quilts. Actually ,this was my first quilt show to be a part of and I really enjoyed it. There was a lot of work putting together the quilt show for example, we had three dry runs before the show to make sure we knew where to place the quilts on the trees. But, all the hard work payed off and we had lots of people come and look at all of the beautiful quilts and enjoy the gardens too. If you ever get the chance to go to a outside quilt show you will enjoy it. All the quilts you see were done by members of our guild. Enjoy the pictures!
Last week I made a visit to a quilt shop called Sweet Darling quilts. While shopping I came across a basket that had some cute vintage images that are ready to sew and also easy to quilt. Of course, I had to get one and try it. I just fell in love with the images and said “this will make a perfect quilted wall hanging in my sewing room”. Over the week I got the quilt top finished and I like it alot. Next, I will need to put the batting, backing and binding around the quilt. When I finish the quilt I will post a picture. I hope everyone has a great week!
