Happy Friday everyone! Can’t believe the weekend is almost here. So, what are your plans this weekend? I am attending a sew-in Saturday to help make pillowcases for the Conkerr Cancer Tampa Bay. Some of you may already know but, I have chosen this charity for this year.
Moving along, I received several emails asking if I would post the ten blocks that I have completed for the quilt along. Keep in mind that I still have two more blocks to complete before putting the quilt together. It is such a pretty day here in Tampa so, thought I would take a picture of the blocks outside. Enjoy the picture and I will see ya’ll next week!
Good morning everyone! Hope your day is off to a good start. I finally completed block # 10 last night and I like how it turned out. This particular block is called “Modern strip block” with a 4.5″ square applique. The applique is sewn on with a Zig Zag stitch. I have never applied an applique to a quilt block before so, I’m thinking next time I will use Fusible Web which keeps the fabric from fraying on the edges. Also, the stiffness that the Fusible Web adds to the fabric helps stabilize the applique. However, if you wish you can still just do a zig zag stitch.
Two more quilt blocks and then it will be time to put the whole quilt together. You still have time to join in on the quilt along with us. Hop on over to Crafty Gemini to get started. For every 12 blocks there is a tutorial explaining how to put the blocks together and is easy to follow along. Would love to hear from my followers so be sure to leave a comment. I enjoy reading them! Happy Quilting until next time! Sharon
Well, hello there my favorite peeps! I am still working on my blocks for the quilt along over at Crafty Gemini and almost done with the blocks. All of the blocks have a video and explain how to make the blocks. I will be posting block #10 next so be watching!
So, how is my favorite peeps doing? I finally got block #8 completed and 4 more to go. Then the fun will begin putting the quilt together. Don’t forget you can join us at the quilt along over at Crafty Gemini. I am currently working on a new project so stayed tuned! See ya soon.
