Modern Strip Block # 10 block of 12

Good morning everyone! Hope your day is off to a good start. I finally completed block # 10 last night and I like how it turned out. This particular block is called “Modern strip block” with a 4.5″ square applique. The applique is sewn on with a Zig Zag stitch. I have never applied an applique to a quilt block before so, I’m thinking next time I will use Fusible Web which keeps the fabric from fraying on the edges. Also, the stiffness that the Fusible Web adds to the fabric helps stabilize the applique. However, if you wish you can still just do a zig zag stitch.
Two more quilt blocks and then it will be time to put the whole quilt together. You still have time to join in on the quilt along with us. Hop on over to Crafty Gemini to get started. For every 12 blocks there is a tutorial explaining how to put the blocks together and is easy to follow along. Would love to hear from my followers so be sure to leave a comment. I enjoy reading them! Happy Quilting until next time! Sharon

Happy Valentine’s to my favorite peeps! Just look at all the sweets but, don’t worry, I am going to share them with you. So follow me.
Stopped over to visit Jodi with Pleasant home and found these cute Valentine Lollipops. These were left over Candy Canes.
Oh and look at these cute cookies that resemble a stamp! You will find them over at bake 350.
I just love chocolate; what about you? I think they taste so good and the cupcake taste so moist! So go ahead and take another one, I won’t tell. It’s our secret, ok!Yum Yum!
Then, I found this box of chocolates and, like they say, “you never know what your going to get.”
I am on overload with sugar and I am sure you are too!
Last but not least, I enjoy getting roses from my wonderful husband that I met 21 years ago. He is my soul mate and my best friend and my everything!
Happy Valentine’s Day honey!
Oh, one more thing that I left out. Can you guess what that might be? I found this vintage Valentine card and they are so cute!

I love this block! There are so many ways to place the HST’s to make a pattern. I finally decided on the pattern called “Hour Glass” and I like the way it turned out. It’s not perfect but, I like it. Five more blocks to make and then I will be able to put the quilt together. “Can’t wait”.
Some of you may not know but, I am involved in a quilt along over at Crafty Gemini and having a lot of fun. Vanessa has great tutorials and are very easy to understand. It’s not to late to jump in and join us even if you are a beginner to quilting!
Happy Quilting!
